The Delhi government is set to roll out the Mahila Samridhi Yojana, a scheme aimed at providing financial assistance to women voters in Delhi who fall under the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category and are under the age of 60. Eligible women will receive Rs 2,500 per month under this initiative, aimed at empowering women and improving their economic condition.

As per sources, the Delhi government has finalized the eligibility criteria, which include a family income of less than Rs 3 lakh annually. To qualify for the scheme, women must not be receiving any other government financial aid, such as the old-age pension or widow pension. Additionally, the women must be voters in Delhi and must have an Aadhaar-linked bank account to receive the funds.
A senior BJP leader informed News18 that the government is working on launching a dedicated portal and mobile app for the registration process, which will be announced soon. "Very soon, the other details will be issued," the leader said, emphasizing the scheme's goal of supporting eligible women in Delhi.
The Mahila Samridhi Yojana was first promised by the BJP leadership during the Delhi assembly elections. While it was initially scheduled to launch on March 8, International Women's Day, it was only approved by the Delhi cabinet on that day, with an allocation of Rs 5,100 crore for the scheme.
With the finalization of the eligibility criteria and the allocation of funds, the government is now preparing for the official launch. The exact start date and the process for crediting the money to eligible women's accounts remain to be confirmed.
As the scheme progresses, it is expected to benefit thousands of women across Delhi, helping to uplift the BPL community and improve women's financial independence.
